Description

Salty, crunchy and sweet, these delicious chocolate covered pretzels can be customized for literally any gathering or season. So yummy!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 16 oz good quality baking chocolate, chopped
  • 4 oz additional chocolate (different color, for drizzling/decorating)
  • 12 oz pretzel rods (one bag)
  • sprinkles or sparkling colored sugar (optional, to preference)

Instructions

  1. Add the chopped chocolate that you are using to cover the pretzels to a microwave safe bowl and heat at full power in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir very well to evenly distribute the heat, and melt for another 30 seconds. Stir again to finish melting the chocolate. If the chocolate is not completely melted after the second half minute, microwave for 15 more seconds at full power. Always stir well after the chocolate comes out of the microwave.
  2. Hold one pretzel rod at a time, standing it upright in the center of the bowl of melted coating. Using a cereal spoon, spoon the coating on all sides of the pretzel rod, leaving a 2 inch space where your fingers are. Use a sharp twisting motion to get rid of any excess coating off of the pretzel. Remove to the prepared baking sheet. Repeat for remaining pretzels.
  3. In the same way as the coating chocolate, heat the second color of chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Pour the melted mixture into a zip top or pastry bag fitted with a #1 piping tip, and drizzle the accent color over the coated pretzels. Top with sprinkles, allow to set, and serve.
